Chungkai War Cemetery

Chungkai War Cemetery in Kanchanaburi is the final resting place of more than 1,400 Commonwealth & over 300 Dutch soldiers who lost their lives while working as forced labour on the Thailand-Burma railway. Chungkai War Cemetery was originally the burial ground of a prisoner of war camp, built by the hands of the prisoners themselves in late 1942, and located to where the the railway line ran.
