Nakhon Phanom is a great place to cycle. In particular along the Mekong River. In April 2017, the local government opened a 303 meter long bicycle tunnel that goes around a navy base. This now means that the cycle path through the town can go all the way to the 3rd Thai-Lao Friendship. This stretch is 15 kilometers long. The next project is a 60 kilometer cycle path from the bridge all the way to Wat Phra That Phanom.
