The Holy Heart Island in Sukhothai Province is one of those places that you cannot really appreciate unless you fly over it. From the ground it looks just like any other island on a lake, but if you get a chance to fly over it in a balloon, then you will see it is shaped like a heart. The island itself was built with earth donated by people from all 843 villages in Sukhothai. On the island is a Siri Sukhothai Buddha image and shrine.
