Wat Mahathat is one of the oldest and most significant temples in Thailand. According to the historians, the temple was established in the 13th century and was rebuilt in the beginning of the 14th century. Mahathat Temple is made of laterite bricks. The main chedi is built in the Sukhothai style with the shape of a lotus bud and contains the relics of the Buddha. The temple is part of the Sukhothai Historical Park.

Yes, definitely need to visit Sukothai now. More fantastic shots. Were you flying in the morning or the early evening? I’ve been up north recently, and it’s a shame the atmosphere is so smoggy right now. Blue skies and sun shining always make for better shots.
