Wat Si Chum lies about 1,500 metres north of Wat Mahathat and was originally surrounded by a moat. A square mondop, which is the main sanctuary, contains a large 11 meter wide stucco-over-brick Buddha image in the attitude of Subduing Mara called “Phra Achana.” The mondop is 32 metres square and 15 metres high, and the walls are 3 metres thick.

Really nice shots of a great subject. I must travel to that part of the country, and will do so if I get an Inspire1 (and the powers that be don’t ban us all from flying…)
